Sony Pictures' animated blockbuster Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on Netflix just in time for Halloween.

Months after dominating the box office, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – the sequel to the Spider-Man superhero series – will be released on October 31st on the Netflix streaming service.

Sony Pictures released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters in May 2023. The animated adventure film grossed an incredible $381 million in North America and $690 million worldwide, becoming the sixth highest-grossing film of the year.

The film surpassed the entire box office revenue of its 2018 Oscar-winning predecessor, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (with $384 million worldwide), in less than two weeks of its big screen release. The third installment , Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is scheduled to hit theaters in 2024.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers directed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film tells the story of Miles Morales, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who is launched across the multiverse and encounters a team of Spider-Men tasked with protecting their very existence. As the heroes clash over how to handle the new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero.
