In the first leg away from home, Sporting CP suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat against Bodo/Glimt.
With this scoreline, many Portuguese fans believed it would be difficult for Sporting to turn the tables in the second leg and advance. However, the unthinkable happened when Sporting overturned Bodo/Glimt with a 5-0 victory.
In this match, Sporting pushed forward, pressing Bodo/Glimt right from the opening whistle. Sporting's comeback was marked by the opening goal in the 34th minute, scored by Gonçalo Inácio with a powerful header.
However, it wasn't until Pedro Goncalves tapped the ball in to make it 2-0 for Sporting in the 71st minute that the Portuguese fans began to think about a comeback.
And the José Alvalade stadium truly erupted when Luis Suarez successfully converted the penalty kick, scoring to increase Sporting's lead to 3-0.
The aggregate score after two legs is now 3-3, but Sporting holds a clear psychological advantage while Bodo/Glimt is under immense pressure. The home team pressed hard in the final minutes but were unable to score a fourth goal.

With the aggregate score tied 3-3 after two legs, Sporting and Bodo/Glimt had to go into extra time to determine the winner.
As the game progressed, the Norwegian football representatives increasingly revealed their lack of composure and fighting spirit under immense pressure from Sporting fans. This is understandable, as Bodo/Glimt were making their first appearance in the Champions League round of 16.
In such a situation, Bodo/Glimt were unable to hold out during the 30 minutes of extra time. The Norwegian team conceded two more goals after shots from Maximiliano Araújo (92nd minute) and Rafael Ferreira Nel (120+1) of the visiting team.
Losing 0-5 in the second leg, Bodo/Glimt were eliminated 3-5 on aggregate, ending their memorable journey in the 2025-2026 Champions League, where they created a series of upsets. By defeating Bodo/Glimt, Sporting became the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals.
This is a well-deserved achievement for Sporting, as they demonstrated resilience and a strong spirit at the most difficult moment to secure their place in the next round.
