On March 4, TASS reported that the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian Su-34 aircraft had conducted airstrikes on a Ukrainian Armed Forces base in the Krasny Liman area.
The Russian Defense Ministry informed: “Su-34 multirole fighter-bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked Ukrainian positions and personnel in the Krasny Liman special military operations area.”
The Su-34s later returned safely to the airfield after receiving intelligence that the targets had been destroyed.
The Russian Defense Ministry also added that the FAB-500 bomb was used. This type of bomb is equipped with an additional set of tools that allows air strikes to be carried out from a safe distance.
Russian armed forces have continued to launch attacks on Ukraine's military infrastructure and equipment.
The Russian military is stepping up efforts to find and destroy Ukrainian military equipment.
Previously, on March 1, AVP also reported on another successful airstrike mission by Russian aircraft.
Accordingly, bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces successfully destroyed an important strategic facility – the bridge over the Oskol River, connecting Osinovo and Kupyansk-Uzlova, south of Kupyansk. This road is actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to transfer troops and military equipment to the right bank of Oskol. Oskol is where the Russian army is intensifying its attacks.
Russian airstrikes also targeted units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsky region of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. The airstrikes occurred after Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Syrsky received instructions to mobilize reserve forces to participate in the counterattack to regain control over lost positions in the Kurakhovsky and Avdeevsky directions.
In addition, explosions were reported in the Dnepropetrovsk region, especially in the city of Pavlograd. According to the AVP, several Ukrainian military equipment storage sites were destroyed. Air strikes against vehicles transporting drones to the front lines in Donbass were also reported.
