As reported by Vietnam Law Newspaper: Many hectares of bamboo shoots, considered the main crop, providing the main income for people in Viet Trung Farm town (Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province) were destroyed by millions of locusts.
Being stripped of leaves makes bamboo plants lose their ability to grow. Even if the bamboo shoots grow, they will become stiff, affecting long-term productivity.

Worried about the devastation caused by locusts, people have proactively sought solutions to deal with them. However, with such a large number of locusts, these solutions are only temporary and not thorough, because the pesticides they buy will kill them, but they will kill them at the base of the tree, not high up.
