On the online market, there are hundreds of thousands of members participating in buying and selling. Some sources are advertising lobsters for only 39,000 VND/piece, making many people surprised because it is so cheap.
Lobster Lobster is always in the top of the high-end seafood segment, so it has a quite expensive price in the Vietnamese market. However, on online markets in recent days, many sources are selling lobsters at super cheap prices, only 39,000 VND/piece.
Along with that is the affirmation "every single lobster is guaranteed", customers can check the goods before transferring payment. Lobsters can be steamed, grilled, put in seafood hot pot...
This price makes many housewives startled. Because before, the price of lobsters was up to millions of dong, small frozen products also cost several hundred thousand dong per kilo. But now, on the online market, 1 lobster costs only 1kg of sweet potato.

Because of the incredibly cheap price, under each sale post on online seafood markets, the number of people ordering this type of lobster is quite large. Accordingly, some people only order 4-5 lobsters, while others take advantage of the opportunity to order up to 10-20 lobsters at a time.
Talk to PV.VietNamNet , Ms. Bui Thi Thu - a seafood seller on an online market with hundreds of thousands of members participating in buying and selling - said that these days, she is selling lobsters for 39,000 VND/each.
“Many people do not believe that each lobster costs only a few tens of thousands of dong, so they ask again to be sure,” she said. However, the quantity of this type of lobster is not much, some days up to 500-600 lobsters are brought in, other days only about 200 lobsters are brought in.
The price of lobster also depends on each shipment. For example, since October, this type of lobster has increased in price to 39,000 VND/lobster. Previously, the price was only 35,000 VND, and even at the beginning of this year, lobsters cost 25,000 VND/lobster.
However, Ms. Thu also admitted that these were suffocated lobsters kept in ice, each weighing only 100 grams (100 grams), not live, swimming lobsters. Therefore, the selling price to customers was only 39,000 VND/lobster.
“If calculated by weight, this type of lobster costs 390,000 VND/kg – equivalent to the price of large tiger prawns,” she said, adding that many customers did not know that these were mini lobsters and just ordered them. Some customers asked for the exact size of the lobster before finalizing the order.

Mr. Truong Van Sang - owner of a seafood store in Hoang Mai ( Hanoi ) - said that each type of lobster on the market is sold at a different price. Not to mention the price of live lobster (swimming) is different from frozen or iced lobster; or the price of large lobsters is also more expensive than small lobsters...
Currently on the online market, sources are selling lobsters for only 39,000 VND/kg, appealing to consumers' psychology of liking cheap prices. Many people see this and quickly close orders for fear of running out of stock.
However, if you calculate carefully, a 100g lobster costs 39,000 VND, equivalent to 390,000 VND per kilogram. This price is equal to the price of 3 or 4 lobsters/kg currently sold on the market. Notably, large lobsters will have more meat, the meat is also firmer and more flavorful than small lobsters.
Therefore, before ordering lobster to eat, Mr. Sang recommends that customers should research carefully, especially items sold on online markets.
