The 13th Excellent Safety and Health Contest in 2025, taking place on August 28 and 29, gathered 111 contestants from 32 units in the whole Group. With the form of a game show consisting of 3 parts: Start - Accelerate - Finish, the contest was both professional and lively and attractive. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to 13 excellent Safety and Health Contestants, 98 excellent Safety and Health Contestants, and 14 units won first, second, and third prizes for the whole group.

In the underground mining sector - a special field with many risks, the team of Uong Bi Coal Company won the first prize. This is a worthy reward, recognizing the persistent efforts in building a strong safety and hygiene network with more than 500 people, arranged in all production groups in the whole company.

Ms. Hong Hue, Vice President of the Uong Bi Coal Company's Trade Union, affirmed: The company's Trade Union always accompanies the profession in occupational safety and health work, from selecting and training occupational safety and health workers, to creating conditions in terms of time and equipment. The achievements at the competition are the pride of the collective, and at the same time, a motivation for the company to continue to improve the quality of the occupational safety and health network, ensuring safety for more than 4,800 officers and workers.

One of the typical faces of Uong Bi Coal Company is Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, Safety Officer of Mining - Tunneling Workshop K11. Having worked at the mine for 16 years, Mr. Linh has been working as a Safety Officer for more than 10 years and has been voted as an excellent Safety Officer for many years. Mr. Linh shared: The job of an Safety Officer is to remind everyone to follow the process, promptly detect risks and propose solutions. I always keep in mind that only when the production shift ends and everyone returns safely, that is the greatest success.

Workshop K2 mining - Tunneling K11 was also highly appreciated at the company-level competition when it won the second prize for the whole group. Workshop Manager Pham Van Manh said: The safety and sanitation team has become an extension of the manager in site management. Thanks to their close supervision, exemplary behavior and responsibility, the workshop has maintained a safety record for many years, without any serious incidents.
