• Extending the communication channel, sharing with Hon Chuoi Island.
  • Strengthening telecommunications infrastructure on the strategically important island of Hon Khoai.

Waves of affection

During their journeys to the frontline islands, the VNPT Ca Mau technical team's mission is to inspect and maintain the broadcasting stations. This is a regular activity aimed at ensuring uninterrupted communication between the islands and the mainland, serving national defense and security purposes as well as the daily lives of the people. Since 2008, when many remote islands still lacked coverage, VNPT Ca Mau, in coordination with the Navy's 5th Regional Command, laid the first bricks for telecommunications infrastructure on Hon Khoai Island.

Mr. Doan Hoang Nghiem (Infrastructure Center, VNPT Ca Mau) shared with emotion: “Previously, travel was difficult; we had to go by fishing boat, then walk or ride motorbikes along trails to reach the station. Now, the infrastructure is much better, with shuttle services available. Although the technicians work hard, they are always proud to maintain the signal for the soldiers and people far from home.”

The journey not only brought technical expertise but also warmth from the mainland through practical gifts. The total value of the gifts, exceeding 60 million VND, was handed directly to the forces on duty and the people on Hon Khoai and Hon Chuoi islands.

Receiving the gift from the delegation, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong (a 4th-grade student at the Hon Chuoi charity school) innocently shared: “I am very happy to receive your care and attention. Here, I am taught math and ethics by the teachers, and today, with the gifts, I am even more delighted.”

Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Kim Ngoc Hien (a resident of Hon Chuoi Island) happily said: "The island is much more spacious and well-maintained now than it used to be. Whenever a delegation comes to visit, give gifts, or wish us a Happy New Year, the people here feel warm and very happy."
