'Succession' and 'The Bear' win big at the 2024 Emmy Awards

The HBO series Succession , about the fierce battle for control of a global business empire, won six Emmy Awards.

Previously, HBO topped the Emmy nominations list with three hit films: Succession (27 nominations), The Last of Us (24 nominations) and The White Lotus (23 nominations).

The Bear, which tells the story of a high-end chef trying to revive his family's Chicago sandwich shop, won six awards, including Best Comedy Series.

The TV series Beef (starring Hong Dao) won Best Miniseries. Its stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong won Best Actor and Actress in a Miniseries.

Best Director for a Drama, Comedy and Miniseries went to Mark Mylod ( Succession ), Christopher Storer ( The Bear ) and Lee Sung-jin ( Beef ), respectively.

The Emmy is the most prestigious award in the US television industry, among the "big guys" in the group of awards such as: Oscar (cinema), Grammy ( music ), Tony (drama). This year's Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Fox. The award ceremony was postponed from September 2023 due to a salary dispute in Hollywood last year.
