New generation Suzuki Swift 2025 is scheduled to launch in Vietnam

After revealing the image of the new generation Swift on the official fanpage, Suzuki finally announced the time this model will be launched in the Vietnamese market. According to some sources, Suzuki Swift 2025 is expected to be introduced to domestic customers on June 26. Suzuki has not yet announced any information about the new Swift for Vietnam. However, through the "real" image of the 2025 Suzuki Swift that was caught in Vietnam not long ago, it can be seen that the car has been improved in terms of design, similar to the Japanese and Indian markets.
More specifically, this B-class hatchback has new exterior details such as the grille, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, front/rear bumpers, rims and taillights. The rear door handle has also been moved from the C-pillar to the door. The equipment of the Suzuki Swift 2025 in Vietnam is still a mystery. Meanwhile, in foreign markets, the car has fabric seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated function keys, an analog dashboard with a 4.2-inch multi-information screen, a 9-inch central touch screen, 1-zone automatic air conditioning, a head-up display, an electronic handbrake, automatic temporary brake hold and a USB port. In addition, the Suzuki Swift in the international market also has the Suzuki Safety Support active safety feature package. However, the car in Vietnam will most likely not have this equipment to keep the selling price competitive. Notably, the Suzuki Swift 2025 in Vietnam will have a new mild hybrid engine.
The car uses a 1.2L, naturally aspirated, 3-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 82 horsepower and a maximum torque of 108 Nm. The engine is combined with a 3.1 horsepower/60 Nm electric motor and a 3Ah lithium-ion battery. In addition, there is a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. According to a sales consultant at the dealership, the car will start at VND569 million and will be imported completely from Japan instead of from Thailand like the old model. The car is expected to have 5 color options, including white, black, silver, blue - black roof and red - black roof. The B-class hatchback segment in Vietnam is no longer popular and has few options like the Mazda2 Sport. Therefore, Suzuki probably does not have too much expectation on the sales of this model.
The Suzuki Swift quietly disappeared from the product portfolio in the third quarter of 2024 and was announced to be discontinued earlier this year. Its return will enrich Suzuki's passenger car portfolio, which currently consists of only two products: the Jimny and the XL7. According to a sales consultant at the dealership, the 2025 Suzuki Swift will start at VND569 million and will be imported completely from Japan. Later this year, Suzuki will also bring a new A-class SUV called Fronx to Vietnam.
