On August 19, the art exhibition “Historical Days” opened at the Vietnam Military History Museum, introducing more than 200 paintings and sculptures by many generations of painters and sculptors from the period of Indochina fine arts, resistance art to the years of national construction, fighting, building and defending the Fatherland.
The exhibition originates from the passion and affection of artist Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, author of the Ceramic Road along the Red River, recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest ceramic painting in the world .
Highlights of the works displayed at this exhibition include a collection of oil paintings about the resistance war against France and the US by Colonel of the Army, artist Le Huy Toan; a collection of sketches drawn on the battlefield by artists Le Lam, Pham Ngoc Lieu, and Phan Oanh honoring millions of people who sacrificed silently: special forces soldiers, female guerrillas, female militiamen, ethnic mothers, foster brothers, etc.

The exhibition brings together typical works of many famous artists in modern Vietnamese fine arts such as: Lacquer painting "Liberation of Buon Ma Thuot" by artist Tran Huu Chat, oil painting " Dien Bien Phu in the air" by Nguyen Thuan, "Missile vehicle crossing Long Bien bridge" by Van Da, gouache painting "New moon" by artist Mai Van Hien.
In addition, the public can also admire the latest works of artists on the theme of islands and the Vietnam People's Navy such as: "Uncle Ho with the islands" by Nguyen Thanh Tung, "Truong Sa Proudly" by Pham Hoang Van, "Truong Sa Rescue Ship" by Ngan Chai, "Raising the Liberation Flag on Son Ca Island" and "The Ceramic Flag on Truong Sa Lon Island" by Nguyen Thu Thuy...
The works of contemporary artists are about love for the homeland, a peaceful, prosperous and happy country such as artist Nguyen Thi Thien with the painting "Spring on the Island", artist Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy with the painting "I love peace", artist Le The Anh with the work "Love song of Truong Sa" ..., sculptures praising the beauty of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime: "Flood season" by Dinh Van Trong, "Water special forces" by Vu Quang Sang, "Break time" by Mai Thi Ngoc Oanh ...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that the exhibition “Historical Days” is an opportunity to honor the silent artistic creations of artists and sculptors through many generations; at the same time, widely promote fine art works on the theme of revolutionary history, contributing to the work of educating traditions, creating motivation to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era of the country.
Colonel Le Vu Huy affirmed that the exhibition is a beautiful highlight on the anniversary of the historic August Revolution, contributing to memories of the fierce but heroic period of the Vietnamese revolution, the radiant but simple beauty of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" through the ages.
The exhibition runs until October 20 at the Vietnam Military History Museum, Hanoi./.
