According to the leader of the Provincial Development Project Management Board, the Ngoc Hiep resettlement area infrastructure construction project was approved for investment by the Provincial People's Committee in 2016 with a total area of 13.45 hectares and a total cost of about 162 billion VND. The project aims to resettle households who have been cleared to implement the Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment Project - Nha Trang City Sub-project (old); at the same time, create a reserve land fund to resettle households for key projects of the province. The completion of the Ngoc Hiep resettlement area will provide more than 600 plots of land for households cleared by key projects of the province. In phase 1, the contractor has completed construction on an area of about 6 hectares. In phase 2, construction will be carried out on an area of 7.45 hectares, of which 2.62 hectares have been cleared but are not yet qualified for construction and 4.83 hectares have not been cleared. For some objective reasons, the project is currently on hold.
After inspecting the actual project, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Quoc Nam agreed to restart the Ngoc Hiep resettlement area infrastructure construction project - phase 2; at the same time, assigned the Provincial Development Project Management Board to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and decide on project implementation procedures; review the boundaries, coordinate the implementation of measurement, counting, develop compensation, support and resettlement plans, apply the best policies, and ensure the rights of the people in accordance with the law.
