Intellectual property associated with sustainable development goals through innovation and creativity is the theme of the conference organized by the Department of Science & Technology (KH & CN) in mid-April, responding to the theme of World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) in 2024, which is "Intellectual property and sustainable development goals: Building a common future through innovation".
Exploitation of intellectual property
According to MSc. Tran Giang Khue, Head of the Southern Office of the Intellectual Property Office, an enterprise's intellectual property usually consists of three parts: capital, tangible assets (factories, equipment, etc.) and intangible assets. Intangible assets are mainly intellectual property, prestige, and reputation of the enterprise. Representations of intellectual property include brands, trademarks, industrial designs, inventions, technical solutions and technologies hidden in the product. Intellectual property is considered a measure of the ability to survive, develop and operate effectively in the future of an enterprise. Intellectual property rights are the rights of organizations and individuals to intellectual property, including copyright and rights related to copyright, industrial property rights, and rights to plant varieties. Binh Thuan dragon fruit and Phan Thiet fish sauce can be considered intellectual property of the province.
Through intellectual property protection and development activities, we have connected farming households from individual production activities to concentrated production models, specializing in products, contributing to improving quality, enhancing product competitiveness, creating management tools and scientific bases to guide consumers to use products with guaranteed origin and quality.
