Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the proposal of the Department of Transport to temporarily suspend toll collection (both directions) for the project to build a road connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway to Sa Pa during the road closure period from March 14, 2024 to April 10, 2024.
At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee requires the project enterprise to have a plan to divide traffic, guide vehicles participating in traffic and solutions to ensure traffic safety on the route, and widely inform organizations and individuals.
After the above time, if the safe and smooth operating conditions are not ensured, toll collection must be stopped until Provincial Road 155 ensures normal operating conditions. After completing the construction of related items and ensuring the safe operating conditions of the route, the project enterprise shall report to the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee (through the Department of Transport) to continue to allow toll collection according to regulations.
The contractor focuses on completing the XL08 package according to the project contract schedule and the signed contract appendices. The construction process must ensure safety, not affect the normal exploitation and operation of the project and properly implement the approved contents. Urgently prepare the Feasibility Study Report to adjust the project to submit to the competent authority for approval according to regulations.
Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests the Department of Transport, Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company and related units to urgently organize the implementation of the above contents.
+ Previously, the route connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway to Sa Pa officially opened to traffic on September 22, 2023, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism . This route helps shorten the travel time from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa by about 20 minutes and avoids many dangerous curves.
