On the evening of January 31st, the Quang Ngai Provincial Police leadership announced that the Binh Son District Police (Quang Ngai) had successfully dismantled a source of explosives, seizing 179 kg of explosives and hundreds of detonators.

Accordingly, at 9 PM on January 30th, on the inter-village road in Phu Long 1 hamlet, Binh Phuoc commune (Binh Son district), the Binh Son District Police caught Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung (52 years old, residing in Binh Phuoc commune) driving a car with license plate 76A - 088.65, along with his son Nguyen Minh Tien (29 years old, residing in Binh Phuoc commune), transporting items in the vehicle suspected to be explosives, and proceeded to conduct an inspection.

During a search of Nguyen Ngoc Dung's residence, police discovered 179 kg of explosives.

Working with the police, Mr. Dung confessed that the items in the car were detonators, totaling 540 pieces. During an urgent search of Mr. Dung's residence, the Binh Son District Police discovered 179 kg of explosives and seized them for further investigation.

According to the police, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung has a prior conviction for illegally buying, selling, and possessing explosives. Locally, Mr. Dung lived under the guise of honest business dealings to conceal his criminal activities. He was also considered a key supplier of explosives in the area.

The discovery of the large quantity of explosives and detonators mentioned above is currently under investigation by the Binh Son District Police.
