Sesko has not lived up to expectations since replacing Rasmus Hojlund. |
Sesko joined Old Trafford from RB Leipzig for a whopping £74 million and was expected to be the solution to Ruben Amorim's attacking problems. However, his first six games without a goal saw the Slovenian receive heavy criticism.
According to The Athletic , in a survey of 20 agents, Sesko received six votes - the most, double the number of Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford in second place.
One agent said: "Manchester United are under pressure to buy Sesko." Another said bluntly: "The amount spent is too much compared to the player's ability." Another said sourly: "Too much money for a striker who is not very outstanding."
However, Sesko is showing signs of improvement with two consecutive goals in the Premier League recently. Former player Michael Owen said hasty assessments are unfair: "I don't want to judge him so early. Sesko needs more time, and the important thing is that he is gradually becoming more confident."
Up to this point, Sesko has only started a few matches for the "Red Devils". But with a price tag of 74 million pounds and huge expectations, the pressure has not left the 22-year-old striker's feet as he is considered the future of MU's attack.
