The results in Asia immediately shocked the international media, as many foreign newspapers quickly condemned Brazil's poor form and lax defense.
Immediately after the final whistle, major newspapers in America, Europe and Asia shared their views. Most of them said that this was a “disastrous” result and a “nightmare” for coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team.
Many newspapers criticized Brazil for losing stability in defense, as well as the ability to cope psychologically when the opponent came back. A Brazilian newspaper commented: "Our squad has famous stars but lacks collective connection, leading to chaos when facing pressure from the opponent."
Coach Ancelotti's personnel choices were also questioned, as his experiments made the Brazilian defense vulnerable to the speed of the Japanese team.
Notable among them was Fabricio Bruno, the central defender who made mistakes in the goals conceded against Japan. There were comments that, with a height of 1.92 m, Bruno should be able to master aerial battles, but he failed in the decisive situation when competing with Ayase Ueda.
With this result, Japan ended a 3-match winless streak. This is also Japan's first victory over Brazil in the history of confrontations.
