As the hiring process becomes more competitive, tech skills are no longer a plus but a given, and the real difference comes from critical thinking, creativity, and mastery of AI.
When the gap doesn't start from the interview round
Vy, the character in the first episode of Voices of Galaxy - Samsung's inspirational series Rising with Vietnam, once fell into a situation familiar to many young people: her job application was not strong enough, her CV was full but not memorable. However, Vy did not wait but used artificial intelligence (AI) like Galaxy AI and Gemini Live to look back at herself, identify her own differences and refresh her profile in a way that best reflected her personality.

The story reflects the truth: The gap between Gen Z and employers does not start at the interview stage, but is formed when the two sides do not have the same voice in the way they perceive capacity and potential. As artificial intelligence becomes an inseparable part of the labor market, that gap is becoming more and more obvious.
Differences in perspective and understanding
The younger generation grew up with technology, mastered digital platforms, and quickly adopted new tools. But this also makes many employers feel like they are “similar” to each other. A neat AI-powered CV may be structurally correct, but it lacks an important highlight: a personal touch.
According to a survey published in Fortune in October: Only 8% of employers believe Gen Z is truly ready for the workplace. Another survey by Forbes in May 2024 also found that 45% of managers consider Gen Z the most difficult generation to manage. And with 90% of Fortune 500 companies using automated resume filtering systems, a resume without a strong enough highlight will easily be eliminated in the first round, before a human even sees it.

AI helps highlight your personal mark when looking for a job. |
However, not all the gaps come from candidates. A large part also comes from the way businesses recruit. Many companies are maintaining old processes: dry job descriptions, stereotyped interviews, prioritizing degrees over experience. With a generation that grew up with social networks, where inspiration and values are expressed through creative spaces, things that are too stereotyped will create less attraction. Many places limit candidates from using support tools or chase technology investments while forgetting to invest in culture and working environment. This creates a clear gap with candidates' expectations.
When artificial intelligence becomes the bridge
AI is not a barrier but a bridge between the two sides. For businesses, it is important to determine the position of AI to help people shine. When recruitment creates a space for candidates to express their identity, AI will help streamline procedures instead of overshadowing people. AI tools that understand Vietnamese such as Galaxy AI and Gemini Live will become powerful assistants for Gen Z in analyzing strengths, practicing soft skills or telling personal stories.
According to Forbes (5/2025), 99% of hiring managers have integrated AI into the screening process, affirming that AI is no longer a separate advantage but a common market context. That raises questions about the ability of both sides to adapt to technology. As AI reshapes the job market, successful people will know how to use tools to amplify their voices. Gen Z will have an advantage if they step out of the rut of clean, emotionless resumes. Businesses will attract talent if they understand the development needs of the younger generation.

Gen Z uses AI to improve themselves. |
The story of finding a job in the AI era is no longer a competition, but a test of the ability to understand, adapt and unlock the potential of both sides. When crossing the bridge called AI together, employers and Gen Z are no longer on opposite sides. When understood, Gen Z will have the space to "reach out", creating opportunities for themselves to break through, as the story in episode 1 of Voices of Galaxy conveyed.
