Speaking after the match, coach Kim Sang Sik expressed regret: " First of all, I would like to thank the fans who came to the stadium to watch the match.

The bad weather conditions led to a bad pitch, which prevented the Vietnamese team from executing their game plan. I was very disappointed that we could not score many goals, despite creating chances. However, I was still happy that the team achieved their goal of winning.

Before the match, we trained the players on finishing drills to help them play well in the opponent's third and make the most of their chances. However, the pitch has a big influence on the way they play. The players need to do better in the final finishing stage. In the next training session, we will try to improve that.

In today’s match, the whole team had many good finishing situations but no goals. The most regrettable thing was Tien Linh, he has the instinct to score goals, run well and finish well but was unlucky, hopefully he will score in the match against Laos next November.”

Because we played at home, the Vietnamese team had a slight advantage over Nepal. In fact, we had many scoring opportunities but we did not take advantage of them well. The players were a bit hasty in the final stages. In the second half, some players were exhausted so we could not achieve what we wanted,” added coach Kim Sang Sik.

Sharing the reason for using young U23 Vietnam players for the match against Nepal, the Korean strategist affirmed: " The use of Hieu Minh, Thanh Nhan, Trung Kien, Dinh Bac, and Van Khang is not a reward for the efforts these players have shown in training sessions.

They can compete with others. And thanks to competition, the quality of the whole team is improved. I think Hieu Minh and other players like Trung Kien played well in the match against Nepal.

Meanwhile, Nepal's assistant Salyan Khadgi said: " In today's match, we fought hard against the Vietnamese team. It was unfortunate that we conceded an own goal. But we still played very well in the second half."

Nepal had a clear strategy for this match, which was to defend firmly. In the second half, we created many clear and strong attacks. If we were playing at home in this match, our goal would be to attack, not just defend like today."
