Striker Nguyen Tien Linh shared his thoughts after the Vietnam team's narrow 1-0 victory by own goal against Nepal, who were considered much weaker.

In the fourth match of Group F - the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, which took place on the evening of October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium, the Vietnamese team barely won 1-0 against Nepal. The only goal of the match came from an own goal by a Nepalese player. Thus, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team had 2 consecutive victories against the same opponent during the FIFA Days in October.

In this match, the Vietnamese team completely controlled the game, launched about 20 shots but could not score. Regarding this issue, striker Nguyen Tien Linh shared after the match: "Before the match, it rained heavily, affecting the field and the playing style of the two teams. Regarding the fact that many opportunities were created but could not score, as I said, it was due to the poor field conditions, there were puddles of water slowing down the speed of the ball. However, today the team also played hard and won 3 points. This victory is dedicated to the fans, who did not mind the rain to come to the stadium to cheer for the Vietnamese team."

The attack was powerless, the Vietnamese team struggled to get 3 points thanks to Nepal's own goal.

Referring to the U.23 players who were given the opportunity to play for the Vietnamese team, Tien Linh expressed: "This is a reward for the efforts of the young players in the past time.
