U22 Vietnam finalizes the list for SEA Games 33, 1m95 tall central defender eliminated

In addition to Dinh Quang Kiet, 4 other players were eliminated (from the preliminary list of 28 players) including striker Bui Vi Hao, midfielder Tran Thanh Trung, Nguyen Duc Viet and central defender Le Van Ha.

Among them, Tran Thanh Trung (20 years old) and Dinh Quang Kiet (18 years old) are assessed to lack international competition experience.

Dinh Quang Kiet, despite having a rare physique for a Vietnamese player, is 1m95 tall, but currently U22 Vietnam does not lack good central defenders, so the central defender currently playing for HAGL Club cannot make it onto the list preparing to go to Thailand for the SEA Games.

Midfielder Nguyen Duc Viet has been away from the Vietnam U22 team for quite a while, his ability to reintegrate into the team led by coach Kim Sang Sik is currently not good.

Meanwhile, in the case of striker Bui Vi Hao and midfielder Le Van Ha, their elimination is very regrettable. Bui Vi Hao was the most promising player of Vietnamese football last year, a member of the national team that won the AFF Cup 2024.

However, after the injury earlier this year, Bui Vi Hao has not been able to regain his best form.

As for Le Van Ha, he was a member of the Vietnam U22 team that won the Southeast Asian U23 Championship in July and qualified for the Asian U23 Championship in September, but Le Van Ha rarely had a place to play for the club in the past period of the V-League 2025-26, so his performance was not high.

It is expected that the U22 Vietnam team will leave Ho Chi Minh City for Bangkok (Thailand) on December 1 to attend the 33rd SEA Games. Coach Kim Sang Sik's team will have its first match in this tournament, against U22 Laos at 4:00 p.m. on December 3. The match will take place at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.
