On the afternoon of November 30, a source from Dan Tri reporter confirmed that LNP - the female patient carrying twins who had her severed arm temporarily grafted onto her leg, causing a stir in public opinion recently - had just completed the arm reattachment surgery.
Accordingly, after many weeks of nurturing the severed hand in the leg area, the surgery to reattach the severed hand to the stump of the patient's arm was performed by the medical team at Binh Duong General Hospital (HCMC). Post-surgery, the hand was reattached and the pregnant woman's health is recovering well.

The hospital is reporting details of the surgery to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health .
Previously, as Dan Tri reported, on September 13, Binh Duong General Hospital (HCMC) received a girl named LNP transferred from Di An Regional Medical Center, in a state of severe crushing injury to her right forearm due to a work accident.
Upon admission to the hospital, the patient's forearm was almost severed, with broken bones and damaged arteries due to the cutting machine, putting her hand at risk and threatening her life. Notably, the patient was 23 weeks pregnant with twins.
Immediately upon receiving the patient, Binh Duong General Hospital promptly provided emergency treatment, activated the red alert for the entire hospital, and mobilized the Emergency Resuscitation, Anesthesia, Obstetrics, and Orthopedics departments to coordinate consultation.
The results showed that the condition of the twins in the patient's womb was stable and she had not yet gone into labor; the wound on her right hand had crushed and severed nearly half of her forearm, fractured the right radius and ulna, and crushed the right radial and ulnar arteries. The patient was scheduled for emergency surgery.
In order to preserve maximum skin and tendon tissue, limit infection and ensure conditions for the next steps of regeneration, the surgical team performed surgery to temporarily transfer the right hand to the right leg using the arteriovenous microsurgery technique.

After the surgery which lasted about 3 hours, the blood circulation was good, the patient's fingertips were pink again. The severed hand was fixed to the leg with Kirschner needle (a bone fixation device), the wound was covered with an abdominal flap.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health highly appreciates the professional capacity of Binh Duong General Hospital in handling urgent and complicated cases.
Choosing the above special microsurgical method is considered a breakthrough solution, not only saving the patient's limbs and ensuring the safety of the twins, but also demonstrating the sense of responsibility, close coordination and dedication of the medical team.
