Tan Chau evaluates and classifies OCOP products, phase 1, 2025

On the morning of May 8, 2025, Tan Chau Town People's Committee organized the first meeting of the Council for evaluating and classifying OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program) in 2025, with the participation of representatives of provincial departments, branches, town offices, OCOP Working Group, New Rural Area Coordination Office of the town; leaders of local People's Committees with products participating in the evaluation.

The Council also evaluates products based on the following criteria: quality, marketability, and community.

The Council unanimously recognized two products, dried striped snakehead fish and dried snakehead fish, meeting 3-star OCOP standards at the town level.

In particular, the two products Thanh Ho soy sauce and palm soy sauce are proposed to continue completing their dossiers and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration of 4-star OCOP classification.

This time, there are 4 products proposed for evaluation, including: Dried striped snakehead fish and dried snakehead fish of Duc Phat dried fish business (Vinh Xuong commune); soy sauce and palm soy sauce of Thanh Ho Production and Trading Company Limited (Long Thanh ward).

At the meeting, the subjects presented their documents, introduced their products and answered questions from the Council. Members discussed and contributed many ideas to perfect the criteria on packaging, labeling, names, traceability, product declaration documents and intellectual property rights.

In addition, the Council also evaluates products according to the following criteria: Quality, marketability, community spirit, and suggests adding user manuals and exploiting unique cultural elements.

As a result, the Council unanimously recognized the dried snakehead fish and dried snakehead fish products as meeting the 3-star OCOP standards at the town level. In particular, Thanh Ho soy sauce and palm soy sauce products were proposed to continue completing the dossier and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration of 4-star OCOP classification.
