On October 1, the Information Technology and Information Security Leadership Conference 2025 - CIO CSO Conference 2025 with the theme: "Cybersecurity Strategy - Creating a Sustainable Future in the era of AI's important role in operation", organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy Research, Viettel Cyber Security Company and IEC.
The CIO CSO 2025 Conference is organized to create a prestigious forum for leaders and experts to discuss and share information on technology and information security trends in the era of important operational roles by artificial intelligence (AI), participate in in-depth discussions with experts, as well as directly experience practical activities such as simulating cyber attack scenarios, demonstrating defense solutions and managing system risks. These contents not only support senior leaders in planning comprehensive information security strategies, protecting data and AI systems, but also help technology and cybersecurity teams of organizations and businesses improve their implementation capacity, ready to respond to increasingly sophisticated threats. Thereby, the event contributes to promoting the effective implementation of the Party's resolutions and policies, the State's policies and laws on science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
Experts say that cybersecurity is a fundamental condition for the country's socio-economic development, a "shield" to protect data sovereignty and national infrastructure. This is both an urgent requirement and a long-term strategy in building the country's future. In addition, recently, AI has emerged as a key driving force for global socio-economic development.
The remarkable development of AI and its application in cybersecurity has also increased AI-based cyber attacks with greater complexity and sophistication, larger scale and faster impact. Given the importance of cybersecurity, many countries around the world have issued strategies and policies to ensure cybersecurity.
By the end of 2024, 132 countries had a National Cyber Security Strategy (up from 107 countries in 2021). Many countries are shifting from passive defense strategies to active defense strategies, including early detection and tracing of cybersecurity vulnerabilities. However, we still face significant challenges in ensuring cybersecurity in the context of the AI explosion. In addition to risks and challenges, AI is also applied in investigation, asset control and real-time cybersecurity risk consulting. Businesses need to grasp trends, restructure information security strategies, and improve security maturity in the important era of AI-driven operations.
At the Senior Roundtable of IT and Security Leaders, moderated by Mr. Phan Thanh Duc, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Economics, Banking Academy, the discussion focused on 3 main contents, specifically: Modern data architecture, Comprehensive data management and Security operations with AI, so that businesses can apply AI effectively, safely and sustainably, and at the same time, recommendations were made to help businesses restructure their IT security strategies and improve their security maturity. In parallel with the senior roundtable, the thematic session "Building network defense capacity in the new era" directly moderated by Viettel Cyber Security focused on the Cyber War Game activity for the team of engineers and cybersecurity experts. Through the simulation of real-life combat according to the Red Team & Blue Team model, Cyber War Game helps participants practice looking at problems from both the attack and defense perspectives in specific situations. This is an opportunity for technical staff to improve their operational capacity, practice quick response thinking, and update the latest attack and defense methods in an era where AI plays an important operational role.
