According to CNBC , shares of the world's leading chipmaker rose nearly 3% in trading on September 30, marking an impressive step forward following a series of deals related to artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Nvidia's stock has risen approximately 39% year-to-date. Investors are increasingly attracted by the company's central position in the AI boom, especially as Nvidia continues to push for partnerships with major players in the technology industry.
Last week, OpenAI confirmed that Nvidia will acquire a stake in the company worth up to $100 billion. Simultaneously, the two companies will collaborate on building data centers worth hundreds of billions of dollars, with most of the hardware supplied by Nvidia.

Now, the partnership between OpenAI and Nvidia is closer than ever, as the two companies aim to build the next generation of AI supercomputing infrastructure.
OpenAI also announced plans to open five new megadata centers with Oracle, expected to be equipped with hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs. The entire “Stargate” project is estimated to cost up to $500 billion.
CEO Jensen Huang stated that Nvidia's products currently account for up to 70% of the cost of building a new AI data center.
This figure demonstrates Nvidia's near-absolute influence in the core infrastructure for artificial intelligence.
Following the OpenAI announcement, Wall Street analysts unanimously raised their outlook for Nvidia. Citi raised its stock price target from $200 to $210, citing stronger-than-expected spending on AI infrastructure.
Citi analyst Atif Malik suggests that OpenAI may have turned to Nvidia for support, given the company's superior product appeal and the rapidly increasing demand for computing power per user.
OpenAI isn't the only tech giant accelerating its investment in AI infrastructure. Meta, Google, and many others have announced plans to scale up data and computing power at record levels.
CoreWeave – a cloud computing provider in which Nvidia is a major shareholder – announced on Tuesday that it has signed a $14.2 billion agreement to provide AI infrastructure to Meta.
This is the latest move demonstrating Nvidia's indirect benefits from its partner network, while also solidifying its irreplaceable position in the global AI ecosystem.
