Tan Thanh - pristine beach of Hue

Without tourists, the image of children playing with the waves and boats lying on the sand seems to recreate a picture of childhood at Tan Thanh beach.

More than 20 km from the center of Hue city, Quang Ngan and Quang Cong communes (Quang Dien district) have 12 km of coastline with many beautiful beaches, such as Tan My, Cuong Giang, Tan Thanh, according to the electronic information portal of Thua Thien Hue province. Not as famous and crowded as Thuan An (Hue city) or Vinh Thanh (Phu Vang district), Tan Thanh beach (Quang Cong commune, Quang Dien district) has the beauty of wildness and peace. In addition to clear blue water and golden sand, Tan Thanh also has small alleys leading to the sea with two rows of romantic green casuarinas and rustic dishes of local people at Con Gai market.

Living in Huong Tra town (Thua Thien - Hue), Hoang The Lap (20 years old) only came to Tan Thanh beach in Quang Cong commune for the first time on June 23.

Mr. Nguyen Trinh, working at the Quang Cong Commune Youth Union, said that the commune has a long coastline with two highlights: Cuong Gian and Tan Thanh beaches. Cuong Gian beach is chosen as a summer destination for many tourists in Hue and other provinces. Cuong Gian is being invested in tourism development, and some resorts have begun to operate. Tan Thanh beach is still quite wild and mainly serves local people.

Tan Thanh village is located on the central road of the commune, connecting Tam Giang lagoon with the sea. The road here is easy to travel, you can travel by motorbike or car following the instructions of the navigation application. Tam Giang bridge, often called Ca Cut bridge by locals, was opened to traffic in 2010, shortening the distance from Hue city to Quang Cong. From Ca Cut bridge, visitors go straight along Highway 49B to the first destination of Quang Cong, Con Gai market, Mr. Trinh added.

"The sunset on Tam Giang Bridge is also a beautiful scene worth enjoying, when the last rays of sunlight of the day spread over the sparkling river surface," Lap shared.

Before reaching the sea, Lap was impressed by the alleys that ran through the hamlets and villages leading to the sea. Thanks to the rows of green casuarinas, the road became more poetic and peaceful. The image of children running and playing on the hamlet roads reminded Lap of his childhood, happy and carefree.

When he reached the beach, the first thing Lap saw was the blue sea in the distance and the small boats of the locals lying quietly on the sand. There were no crowds, no noise, no resorts, hotels, or shops on the beach. Lap could clearly hear the sound of the waves lapping against the shore and the wind blowing through the pine trees. "Like a melodious song of the ocean," Lap said.

Lap arrived at the beach at around 4:30 p.m. The sun was still hot, but some people had already come to the beach, sitting under the shade of trees to chat and enjoy the breeze. Children were running and playing with each wave hitting the shore. The sand here is long and gentle, the sea water is blue and clean, safe for swimming.

With no tourists, the beach is mainly a place for locals to rest and relax after a day's work. Occasionally, a few boats of people from far away arrive at the shore before sunset. "These are just familiar images, but when combined, they create a picture of peace that touches the heart. I just sat there watching the scenery and couldn't bear to leave," Lap shared.

Located along the beach, about 300 meters away is the residential area. Visitors will encounter moments when people lead buffaloes and cows along the beach back home.

Mr. Trinh added that tourists can swim and camp for free and safely. However, because there are no camping service businesses, tourists should carefully prepare necessary equipment and tools. Regarding cuisine, there are some restaurants located in residential areas for tourists to enjoy. Tourists can also go to Con Gai market to buy aquatic and seafood products of Tam Giang lagoon such as herring, eel, sea bass, grouper, goby at reasonable prices to organize a barbecue party on the beach. Remember to clean up before leaving.

Visitors can also stay at some homestays and resorts on Cuong Giang beach in Quang Dien commune, about 5 km from Tan Thanh beach.

Near Quang Cong beach, there is also Hai Duong beach, Ru Cha mangrove forest, Tam Giang lagoon. A little further away is Thuan An beach, one of the most famous beaches in Hue for tourists to visit. The scenery on the way back is equally beautiful with lagoons, lagoons, and herds of buffalo leisurely grazing.

Although there are no real tourism and entertainment services for visitors from afar, Tan Thanh is still a destination for those who love peace and want to relax and rest. "The peaceful scenery and the soothing blue of the sea here can help people heal. But when coming here, I hope people will not disrupt the quiet atmosphere there. Walk lightly, speak softly and leave nothing but footprints," Lap shared.
