The conference aims to strengthen close and effective coordination between the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces; departments, branches and localities in the downstream area of the reservoir and the reservoir management and operation units within the scope of the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure during the flood season of 2025. During the dry season of 2024, Buon Kuop Hydropower Company and other hydropower management and operation units proactively worked with the locality to agree on a plan to run the water discharge machine to serve the needs of daily life and agricultural exploitation in the downstream area.
During the flood season, the operation and flood regulation of reservoirs is carried out in compliance with the requirements of the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure, the Reservoir Operation Procedure, the signed regulations and coordination plans.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in 2025, there will be 4-6 storms that will directly affect the mainland of our country. The owners of hydropower reservoirs in the Serepok River basin will carry out PCTT-TKCN work according to the principle of "Proactive prevention, timely response, urgent and effective recovery" and the motto "Four on-site" (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site means and materials; on-site logistics).
The units will organize local propaganda, inspect and maintain construction equipment for the flood season. At the same time, organize 24/7 operation, monitor and calculate reservoir operating parameters, operate construction equipment in compliance with the issued Operation and Incident Handling Procedures.

Representatives of hydropower reservoir owners recommended that local authorities disseminate information to local people about the annual flood season (August to November) so that they can plan for appropriate agricultural and livestock farming, and not organize tourism activities during the flood season; the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, and the People's Committees of downstream communes agree to add warning signals in case of reduced discharge through spillways, and not issue warnings when power generation is completely stopped to minimize unnecessary warnings affecting people.
At the conference, delegates discussed and agreed to approve the Coordination Regulations between the Dak Lak Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Buon Kuop Hydropower Company on the operation and regulation of Buon Tua Srah, Buon Kuop and Srepok 3 hydropower reservoirs during the flood season according to the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure.
This regulation stipulates the coordination content and relationship between the parties; ensures communication, coordinates direction and management of reservoir regulation and flood discharge during the rainy and flood season; prevents and overcomes consequences before, during and after flood discharge to carry out the work of disaster prevention and control and search and rescue to achieve the best results...
