
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Cultural Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).
On July 30, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said: Activities at the Vietnam Cultural and Tourism Village in August aim to create a useful summer playground for children, with familiar activities closely associated with the daily lives of ethnic groups. At the same time, through activities to introduce and widely spread to tourists the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary struggle of the ethnic community; the stature and significance of the August Revolution in 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam); educate about the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of great solidarity, the desire for peace , the will to be self-reliant, self-respect, and national pride; express deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for the independence, freedom, and unification of the country.
The August activities have the participation of more than 100 compatriots from 16 ethnic groups who are active every day (Nung, Tay, Mong, Dao, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Co Tu, Raglai, E De, Khmer) with the participation of 11 localities (Thai Nguyen, Hanoi , Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La, Hue, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho). In addition, the Organizing Committee mobilized about 25 Xo Dang compatriots from Quang Ngai province on August 23 and 24, 2025.
With the theme "Going to the Village to experience traditional culture", the August program will have many attractive activities such as: reenacting the water trough worshiping ceremony of the Xo Dang ethnic group, Kon Tum province, with the meaning of thanking the gods, praying for abundant water, healthy villagers, abundant livestock, bountiful crops, love, solidarity and sharing among villagers.
The exchange program "Village Echo" of the Xo Dang people in Quang Ngai province with various forms such as folk singing, performing traditional musical instruments... In addition, there is an exchange of Xo Dang, Co Tu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Raglai ethnic groups operating daily in the Village to strengthen cohesion and introduce the culture of the Central Highlands villages.
In addition, at the Village there are also folk song and dance programs: "Highland Dream", "Happy Village in the Sound of the Khen", "Vietnam in Me", experience and exchange of typical performances of ethnic groups such as: playing Dinh Nam, singing Ay Ray, playing Chapi, singing songs about the Central Highlands, Tinh playing, Then singing, xoe dancing...; learn about ethnic cuisine and enjoy special dishes: sticky rice, chicken cooked with bamboo shoots, steamed fish, steamed vegetables, grilled fish, dishes made from pork, colored sticky rice... of the Muong and Thai ethnic groups; grilled chicken of the Dao and Kho Mu ethnic groups...
In addition, traditional cultural experiences are organized with folk games such as: playing checkers, checkers, bamboo puppets... in indoor spaces; walking on stilts, dancing on bamboo poles, swinging, seesaw... in outdoor spaces.
