According to the plan, the Hue City Sports Festival at all levels will be held from August 2025 and end before May 30, 2026. Of which, the Commune and Sector Sports Festival will be held from August 2025 to March 15, 2026; the City Sports Festival will be held from September 2025 to May 2026. The opening date of the Festival is expected to be May 19, 2026.
The 10th Hue City Sports Festival will be held from August 2025.
Sports Festivals at commune and sector levels will organize competitions in 8 or more sports (for communes in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, competitions will be organized in 5 or more sports ; for sectors, competitions will be organized in 5 to 8 sports), depending on specific facilities and professional conditions.
Prioritize the organization of sports in the competition system at the Asiad and Olympics such as: Athletics, Swimming, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Cycling, Badminton, Table Tennis, Archery, Weightlifting, Canoeing, Rowing, Handball, Tennis, Sepak Takraw, Petanque, Martial Arts, Wrestling..., sports loved by people, cadres, soldiers, ethnic sports and folk games suitable for local traditions. Ensure that at least half of the sports organized at the Games are sports in the competition system at the Asiad and Olympics.
The city-level Sports Festival will organize competitions in 18 sports, focusing on organizing key sports, traditional local sports, and ethnic sports. Ensuring that at least 2/3 of the sports held at the Festival are sports in the competition system at the Asiad and Olympics.
There are expected to be 18 competitions including: Chess, Football, Karate, Taekwondo, Athletics, Swimming, Badminton, Cross-country, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Traditional Wrestling, Crossbow Shooting, Boat Racing, Chinese Chess, Vovinam, Shuttlecock, Billiards, Petanque (there will be specific regulations for each event). Participating in the 10th Hue City Sports Festival in 2026 include teams from 40 communes, wards and sectors: City Military Command, City Police, Hue University, Department of Education and Training, etc.
The Hue City People's Committee requested that the Sports Congress at all levels be organized in a practical and effective manner, promoting socialization work well, creating excitement and enthusiastic participation among the masses. Strive for 100% of communes and wards in the whole city to organize the Congress. Uphold the spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, achieving high achievements, and fight against all negative manifestations contrary to the morality and martial spirit of the nation. Localities and units organizing sports competitions in the Sports Festival at all levels must be suitable to local conditions, giving priority to sports in the competition system at the Asian Games and Olympics, strong sports, traditional sports that are loved, practiced and competed by the majority of people. The organization of sports competitions must ensure compliance with the law, competition regulations, in the spirit of solidarity, honesty, objectivity and fairness in sports. Based on the specific conditions of each locality, units can organize some sports before the Opening Ceremony, organize the remaining sports after the Opening Ceremony and organize the summary and closing of the Festival.
