Strengthening the management of mineral activities.

The People's Committee of the city has just issued Official Document No. 4618/UBND-ĐTĐT requesting departments, agencies, and localities to strengthen the management of mineral activities in the city.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will take the lead, coordinating with relevant agencies, units, and localities to strengthen inspections and audits of compliance with laws on geology and minerals. Simultaneously, it will review all mining areas, mining sites, and areas where illegal mineral exploitation frequently occurs to promptly detect and strictly handle violations according to regulations; and advise the City People's Committee on holding organizations and individuals accountable for prolonged violations or lax management.

The city police directed relevant forces to strengthen intelligence gathering, inspection, and strict handling of illegal mining, transportation, stockpiling, and consumption of minerals; coordinate inspections of mineral transportation activities on land and inland waterways; and strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.

The People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are directly responsible to the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city if illegal mining, transportation, and consumption of minerals continue for an extended period within their jurisdiction.

The City People's Committee requests that relevant departments, agencies, and units, according to their assigned functions and duties, strengthen coordination in the state management of mineral resources; proactively exchange information and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles that arise.
