These days, staff and teachers of Trinh Tuong Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities are busy cleaning, tidying up the campus, and decorating classrooms to welcome students to the new school year.

This school year, the school welcomes nearly 155 first graders, of whom 127 are ethnic minorities (Mong, Dao, Giay, Ha Nhi, etc.). Therefore, strengthening Vietnamese before the new school year is considered an annual and important task, helping students have a language foundation to access knowledge.
The Vietnamese language enhancement program for ethnic minority students before entering grade 1 includes activities to improve listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Vietnamese through integrated lessons, diverse teaching methods and appropriate materials.
Teacher Vu Thi Minh Huyen, a teacher at Trinh Tuong Primary School for Ethnic Minorities, shared: “After the summer vacation, many children forget their letters, so teachers must be close to them, create the best mindset for them to come to class, then practice discipline and teach basic strokes. For first graders, the most important thing is that they must grasp and write basic strokes, from which they can write letters.”

According to Mr. Pham Van Thiet, the school's principal, "The school has developed a plan for 60 additional lessons. In addition to training discipline and skills, students are also trained in handwriting and the necessary conditions to be able to access the 2018 General Education Program in the best way."
The local government is also very close to the preparation work. The People's Committee of Trinh Tuong commune has issued a directive document, established an inspection team, and requested schools to review and repair facilities, and prepare adequate textbooks and teaching equipment at 6 schools in the area.
Mr. Chu Van Hoi, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: "The Commune People's Committee has organized working sessions with the Board of Directors of schools to remove difficulties and obstacles for joint implementation. In particular, focusing on arranging teaching staff, teaching equipment and preparing the mindset for students, especially students entering grade 1".
Enhancing Vietnamese language for ethnic minority students before entering grade 1 is not only a purely professional activity but also demonstrates the locality's efforts to eliminate language barriers because the Vietnamese language skills of many ethnic minority children are still limited.

With the close direction of the Party Committee and government, the dedication of teachers and the support of parents, Trinh Tuong Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities is ready for the new school year 2025 - 2026 with the determination to achieve many high achievements.
