According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi 1 commune, from May 19 to 21, a joint inter-agency patrol team including border guards, commune police, and local authorities conducted patrols, inspections, and raids targeting illegal alluvial gold mining, seizing and destroying numerous makeshift camps and equipment in the Khe Bun and Khe Li Leng areas.
Specifically, on May 21st, Patrol Team No. 2 conducted a patrol and raid targeting illegal gold mining activities in the Khe Bun area (Ke village, A Luoi 1 commune). During the patrol, they discovered over 1,000 meters of water pipes, 3 gold panning trays, and other equipment. The authorities destroyed the aforementioned equipment.
Earlier, on May 19th and 20th, the forces of patrol post number 1 also discovered 5 makeshift camps along the stream bank, along with some traces of recent mining activities.

At the scene, the suspects also left behind tools used for mineral extraction, including a 10-liter oil can, about 5 meters of water suction pipe, and 4 gold panning trays… The patrol team proceeded to destroy the camp and dispose of the tools belonging to the group of illegal gold miners.
In particular, during a raid in the Li Leng ravine area, authorities discovered three newly erected makeshift camps along the stream bank, along with seven individuals engaged in illegal gold mining and panning.
Upon seeing the patrol team, the seven individuals quickly fled into the forest. Shortly afterward, their makeshift shelters were dismantled and destroyed.

Previously, the People's Committee of A Luoi 1 commune, along with other functional forces, organized a crackdown on illegal mining activities at "hot spots" concentrated in the Khe Bun and Khe Li Leng areas. As a result, the functional forces destroyed many makeshift camps, deep tunnels, and gold panning equipment.
According to the People's Committee of A Luoi 1 commune, due to the large area, rugged mountainous terrain, and the fact that the mining areas are located deep in the forest, far from residential areas, and with difficult transportation, inspection and crackdown efforts face many obstacles. In addition, illegal mining activities are small-scale and scattered, with perpetrators frequently changing locations and times of operation, making it difficult to detect and thoroughly address the problem.
