
These days, engineers and workers from the joint venture of contractors, including Xuan Quang Construction JSC (Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province) and Binh Dinh Transportation Design Consulting JSC (Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province), are divided into four teams working on the Quang Da bridge and approach road project.

Observations at the construction site on the south bank of the Yen River (in Dien Tien commune) show that workers have cast one girder and are preparing to cast the second bridge girder; bridge abutment M2 is rising higher. On the north bank (in Hoa Khuong commune), abutment M1 has also reached a technical height almost equivalent to abutment M2. In addition to the main bridge, the construction unit is busy working on the approach roads.

Engineer Than Duc Nghia, a project manager at Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company, shared that the consortium of contractors currently has more than 50 personnel, 2 pile drilling machines, 3 specialized cranes, numerous rollers, bulldozers, excavators, etc., deployed on the construction site. Accordingly, one team specializes in pile drilling, another is responsible for casting beams, another for constructing abutments and piers, and the remaining team is carrying out excavation and embankment for the access road.
To date, the two bridge piers are approximately 90% complete. The T1 pier base has been finished and formwork and reinforcement are being installed for casting the pier body; scaffolding is being installed on pier T4 in preparation for the cap beam. In the riverbed area, workers are constructing the base of pier T3 and drilling piles for pier T2. The contractor is striving to complete the substructure of the Quang Da bridge before this year's rainy season.

Regarding the approach road to the bridge, the section within Dien Tien commune is approximately 50m long. Dien Ban town has completed the land handover, and construction will later connect the Quang Da bridge approach to the Quang Nam northern ring road project. The approach road within Hoa Khuong commune is 1.154km long, with its beginning adjacent to National Highway 14B. Engineer Than Duc Nghia stated that the land for the approach road on the north bank, from km0+400 to abutment M1, has already been cleared.

In recent days, workers have been busily constructing horizontal drainage culverts, restoring irrigation ditches, and excavating and filling road foundations. Once the local authorities clear and hand over the land at any point along the first 400 meters of the route, the contractor will immediately begin construction to ensure the project's progress.

The Quang Da Bridge and its approach roads were approved by the Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee in Decision No. 1072, dated May 23, 2023, with a total investment of over 274 billion VND. The investor is the Da Nang Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Project Management Board. The investment aims to connect transportation between Hoa Vang District and Dien Ban Town, gradually completing the regional transportation network.

The Quang Da Bridge and its connecting road to National Highway 14B in the north and the Quang Nam northern ring road south of the Yen River will promote socio-economic development in Hoa Vang and Dien Ban districts. At the same time, it will play a crucial role in connecting an important external transportation axis between Quang Nam and Da Nang, with ripple effects on neighboring localities (such as Dai Loc district and Hoi An city...).
The Quang Da Bridge and approach road project commenced construction on December 14, 2023; the construction period is 510 days. It is a Class IV road in a flat area, with a design speed of 60 km/h; and a cross-section of 4 lanes.
The roadbed width in Da Nang is 34m; of which the road surface is 14m wide (7m on each side), the reinforced shoulder is 0.5m wide on each side, the unpaved shoulder is 5m wide on each side, and the median strip and safety strip are 9m wide.
The roadbed in Quang Nam province is 27m wide; of which the road surface is 14m wide (7m on each side), the sidewalks on each side are 5m wide, and the median strip and safety strip are 3m wide.
The Quang Da Bridge is 204m long and 22m wide; of which the road surface across the bridge is 14m wide (7m on each side), the safety strip is 1m wide on each side, the median strip is 2m wide, and the railings and pedestrian lanes on each side are 2m wide.
