Offering the lowest bid among the contractors participating in the expressway project through Binh Phuoc province, Son Hai Group failed the bid due to “not meeting technical requirements”. Immediately after that, this group issued a document expressing its objection to the result.

Son Hai Group was established in 1998, headquartered in Quang Binh .

According to the business registration updated in May 2024, the group has a charter capital of nearly VND 2,366 billion, including nearly VND 2,055 billion in cash and more than VND 311 billion in land use rights value.

Shareholders contributing capital include Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai contributing 2,363.8 billion VND (99.9% of contributed capital) and Mr. Le Thanh Huong contributing 2.1 billion VND (nearly 0.1% of contributed capital).

At present, Son Hai Group has 6 legal representatives including: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai (born in 1985) is Director; Mr. Hoang Minh Truong (born in 1948) is Deputy Director; Mr. Ngo Minh Ngoc (born in 1987) is Director; Mr. Nguyen Viet Vuong (born in 1994) is General Director; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai (born in 1966) is Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Le Thanh Huong (born in 1994) is Director.

By the end of May 2024, Son Hai Group increased its charter capital to more than VND 4,478 billion. Of which, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai contributed VND 4,476 billion, Mr. Le Thanh Huong contributed VND 2.1 billion. All capital contributions were in cash. Mr. Nguyen Viet Vuong is no longer on the list of legal representatives of the enterprise.

Currently, according to information from the National Business Registration Portal, Son Hai Group has 4 legal representatives: Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai, Mr. Le Thanh Huong, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai and Mr. Ngo Minh Ngoc.

Over the years, Son Hai has won more than 20 large contracts, standing out with high construction quality and warranty commitments.

Since 2014, Son Hai Group has surprised everyone by committing to a 5-year warranty for the roads it constructs, while other units only provide a 1-2 year warranty. By the end of 2022, Son Hai Group has requested the Ministry of Transport to provide a 10-year warranty for the sections of the expressway it constructs.

Some large-scale projects that this enterprise has participated in include the national key project of Ta Trach reservoir (Thua Thien Hue), Tan My reservoir project (Ninh Thuan); Ngan Truoi reservoir project (Ha Tinh); Package XL-01 Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway, Package XL-07 Cam Lo - La Son expressway, Package XL-10 at Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway...

In addition to construction activities, Son Hai Group has also been approved by Quang Binh province as the investor of the Nam Cau Dai Urban Area project in Phu Hai ward, Dong Hoi city. The project has a total investment capital of VND 2,200 billion.

According to 2023 data, Son Hai Group recorded revenue of more than 4,000 billion VND.

Recently, in April, Son Hai Group and Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment JSC won the bid for the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway BOT project with a total investment of VND8,496 billion. The 60.2km route passes through Thong Nhat, Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan and Tan Phu districts (Dong Nai), with an expected construction period of 24 months.

A month earlier, Son Hai also won the bid package No. 01XL to build the Phu Yen coastal road (Tuy An - Tuy Hoa City section) with a winning bid price of nearly VND891 billion - 12.5% ​​lower than the initial estimate. The project has a total investment of VND2,228 billion, a length of 14.6km, a roadbed width of 42m, and a design speed of 60km/h.

In 2024, Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) announced the invitation for bids for package No. 4.7 "Construction and installation of equipment for aircraft parking lots, passenger terminals and other works", under the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1. The bid price is 6,368 billion VND.

In this bid, the consortium with Son Hai was disqualified because one contractor in the consortium had not paid the annual account maintenance fee of VND330,000. In this bid, the consortium with Son Hai's participation offered a bid price about VND416 billion lower than its competitor.

After that, this consortium also expressed its opposition to ACV's results. But ACV continued to reserve this bidding result.
