According to the working schedule of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this afternoon, May 19, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan received and worked on site with leaders of the Trump Organization.
On the afternoon of May 19, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, along with Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman - project director of Trump International Hung Yen and Mr. Dang Thanh Tam - chairman of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation, conducted a field survey of several locations in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the survey, investors looked at two locations in the East of Ho Chi Minh City in Thu Duc City.
On May 22, it is expected that Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc and Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan will also have a meeting with leaders of Trump Organization.
According to a document from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) and Saigon Investment Group participated in promoting the Trump Vietnam project in Ho Chi Minh City and had a meeting with the city's leaders in March 2025.
During this visit and work, the delegation will have 2 groups, group 1 led by Mr. Charles James Boyd Bowman will enter the city from May 19.
Group 2 led by Mr. Eric Trump, senior vice president of Trump Organization and son of President Donald Trump, entered the city on May 22.
The delegation is expected to visit Thu Thiem area to survey the proposed location for the construction of Trump Tower and hopes to have a working session with city leaders about this project.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision approving the investment policy of the urban complex, eco-tourism , and golf course in Khoai Chau, Hung Yen.
This project was proposed by The Trump Organization, a corporation owned by the family of US President Donald Trump, with a total investment of more than 1.5 billion USD.
The Trump Group had expressed its intention to invest in this project with Hung Yen province since September 2024, before Mr. Donald Trump won the US presidential election at the end of last year.
