Close military-civilian relationship
From 7am, on the fishing control ship 290, nearly 100 fishermen were present waiting to have a hot breakfast prepared by the organizers. At each table, border guards, coast guard, and fisheries control officers sat among the fishermen to promptly visit and encourage the fishermen to continue "going out to sea and sticking to the sea". At the same time, they disseminated regulations on fishing and seafood, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of our country's seas and islands.
Mr. Tran Van Hung - Deputy Commissar of Ho Chi Minh City Command - said: "Fishermen are not only workers at sea but also pioneer soldiers protecting the sea, 'messengers of peace , cultural messengers' of the nation. The country is always proud to have people who sacrifice themselves for the sea.
Therefore, I call on all fishermen to continue to unite, comply with maritime laws, work safety and persevere at sea. The armed forces are always by your side, creating all conditions for you to feel secure when going to sea."

Faced with many complex and tense developments in the East Sea, the spirit of solidarity between the army and the people has been increasingly promoted. Mr. Hung affirmed that the border guards, coast guard, fisheries surveillance, navy and other functional forces have been and are standing side by side with fishermen every day.
The program "Breakfast with fishermen" is also an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the army and the people and an opportunity for the authorities to directly exchange, listen and absorb the thoughts and aspirations of the fishermen. From there, timely support measures can be taken.
Help fishermen feel secure at sea
Speaking at the program, Ms. Le Thi Thuy - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - said that the program is a sincere thank you from the Party Committee, government and people of the city to the fishermen who are working day and night at sea, contributing to protecting the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In recent times, fishermen have faced many challenges such as increasingly depleted aquatic resources, erratic weather, and difficulties in accessing preferential loans to upgrade boats and equipment. However, they are still resilient in going offshore, making important contributions to the development of the city's marine economy .
Accordingly, each ship and each fisherman is also a living landmark at sea, strongly affirming the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. Many fishermen are also important "eyes and ears", promptly providing information and coordinating with functional forces in protecting security, order and safety at sea.
Ms. Thuy emphasized that in the coming time, the city will review support policies, especially preferential loan programs to support fishermen in upgrading modern equipment, improving fishing efficiency and ensuring safety when going to sea.
In addition, it will protect fishing grounds and sustainable aquatic resources for fishermen. Prevent illegal fishing and expand fishing logistics services so that people can feel secure at sea.
The city will also pay more attention to the quality of life of fishermen; support fishermen to master regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
