
At the workshop, delegates, guests and experts all affirmed that Shan Tuyet Suoi Giang tea is a valuable natural heritage of the Mong ethnic group, with more than 40,000 ancient trees ranging in age from 100 to 500 years old, distributed over nearly 500 hectares of natural tea forest at an altitude of nearly 1,400 m.
With the goal of developing tourism into a key economic sector, Van Chan commune, based on the potential and specific advantages of the locality, has identified one of the three breakthroughs in socio-economic development as developing tourism associated with organic agriculture and preserving indigenous culture. Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea increasingly affirms its unique value, prestigious position and its own brand, becoming a product bearing the cultural and ecological imprint of the land.
Speaking at the workshop, delegates proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of management, protection and sustainable development of ancient tea growing areas; discussed solutions to improve product quality and promote trade for Shan Tuyet tea products; expanded exchanges and connections between tea artisans, businesses and tea lovers to spread the value of local products.

Mr. Le Huy Cuong, member of the Heritage Tree Council (Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment), proposed: The locality needs to complete the planning of the Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet tea area; submit to the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council for recognition of 400 trees; organize strict protection of the heritage tree area; replace damaged To tea trees; organize a ceremony to honor and promote Shan Tuyet tea tourism .

Dr. Do Minh Ha - Lecturer at the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, proposed a method to determine the age of trees, in order to accurately determine the age of ancient trees to evaluate the historical, cultural and economic value of tea trees, thereby supporting the management, conservation and sustainable development.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Deputy Director of the Northern Mountainous Agricultural and Forestry Science Institute presented the potential and orientation of applying advanced technologies to process and diversify value-added products from Shan Tuyet tea trees, such as black and green tea preservation technology; equipment lines for extraction, separation and collection of organic compounds; freeze-drying equipment; spray-drying technology, and many other modern applications.

At the same time, she also hopes that all levels and sectors will pay more attention to help manufacturers clearly position their brands.

The workshop is the opening activity for the Shan Tuyet Tea Festival in Lao Cai province. The event not only proposes solutions to improve product quality and promote trade for Shan Tuyet tea products, but also creates a connecting forum, contributing to spreading the unique value of Shan Tuyet Tea Lao Cai in general, and Suoi Giang, Van Chan commune in particular.
