On November 21, it was noted that at some fashion stores in the central area, there were many customers coming in and out to hunt for the biggest discount program of the year: Black Friday.

Multiple promotions before Black Friday

This year's Black Friday takes place on November 28, but many brands have already launched their promotions a week before to take advantage of the opportunity to increase sales.

This is the biggest sale at the end of the year and is an opportunity for stores to "run" gratitude programs as well as stimulate shopping from customers.

A store representative said the brand has increased its inventory by about 30% compared to usual to meet the increased shopping demand.

In addition to offline stores, this brand's staff also organizes synchronous programs on all online channels (Facebook, Shopee, TikTok, Website) to maximize coverage.

The recorded reduction is from 50-70%, many stores also organize sales programs with the same price, ranging from 99,000 - 499,000 VND/product.

At many fashion stores on Nguyen Trai and Le Van Sy streets, the number of customers in the evening has increased significantly. Many people carry bags of all sizes, choosing to buy essential items such as jackets, jeans, shoes - products in preparation for the upcoming festival season and Lunar New Year.

On e-commerce platforms, searches for "Black Friday", "50% off" or "free shipping" have also increased sharply since the beginning of the week. Many consumers combine in-store viewing and online payment to take advantage of discount codes, or choose to pick up at the store to avoid delayed delivery.

H&M Vietnam brand representative said the number of customers has increased steadily since the company started the program on November 15. The number of purchases remained stable throughout the week thanks to the advantage of a wide product portfolio, meeting the needs of many different age groups and styles.

Purchasing power is still not as good as last year.

Many big brands also take advantage of the year-end sales season to launch deep discount programs to free up display space. Staff must constantly replenish products, arrange shelves and assist customers in trying on clothes throughout the day.

Some customers choose to buy in groups, try on and compare products right in the aisle and "close the deal" together. Stores have therefore increased staff and opened additional checkout counters to limit long lines during peak hours.

In the domestic brand group, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, Marketing Director of CATU fashion brand, said that although the general purchasing power decreased compared to last year, Black Friday is still an important opportunity for businesses to turn around November revenue: "Purchasing power always increases at the end of the year. If you prepare well, you will be able to take advantage of the opportunity."

In addition to fashion products, the group of essential products this year also recorded a high level of interest. Ms. NKM (39 years old) shared that taking advantage of the big sale opportunity, she took the opportunity to buy more to stock up. "Essential products such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap... are always needed, so take the opportunity to buy them at low prices to save money," Ms. M. said.

The shopping atmosphere is gradually heating up, signaling a promising year-end season. Despite somewhat cautious spending, Black Friday still has a positive tone, creating a vibrant start for the year-end sales chain and the approaching Tet shopping season.

Black Friday is a major shopping day originating from the US, taking place on the Friday after Thanksgiving , usually in late November. This is considered the opening time for the year-end shopping season in many countries.

Over the past decade, Black Friday has spread to many Asian countries, including Vietnam, and is considered an important stimulus event for both in-store shopping and e-commerce.
