On July 31, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Vinh Long Electricity Company (headquartered in An Hoi ward) to organize a conference on the situation of electricity production and supply in the first 6 months of the year and directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

According to the report, as of July 2025, the province is operating 4 types of power sources with a total installed capacity of about 5,422 MW. Of which, there are 4 coal-fired thermal power plants, 13 wind power plants, 2 solar power projects, and 4,417 rooftop solar power systems.
The installed capacity of renewable energy sources accounts for 17%, of which wind power plant capacity accounts for 10.5%, solar power 6.5% and the cluster of 4 Duyen Hai coal-fired power plants accounts for 83.14% of the total installed capacity. In addition, 14 wind power projects are under construction; 1 biomass power project and 1 solid waste incineration power project - scheduled to operate in 2025 and 2026.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Truc Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the authorities at all levels have made efforts in management and operation, completing many set goals. However, there are still some shortcomings in administrative procedures and site clearance for power projects.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to speed up the implementation of key projects; resolve problems related to power supply and site clearance; strengthen management, operation and coordination between agencies and units, ensuring the completion of socio -economic development targets and plans of the province.
