Military expert Andrey Marochko told the TASS news agency: "Currently, the Veterinarnoye-Granov section is the starting point of the buffer zone being established in the Kharkiv region. And of course, this is part of the task assigned by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin regarding the establishment of a buffer zone to ensure the security of Russian citizens living in this area."
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on May 27 that its military had gained control of the Granov settlement in the Kharkiv region.
Meanwhile, Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said that Ukrainian armed forces had bombed the city of Sevastopol in the Crimean Peninsula with drones and possibly Storm Shadow missiles.
"Throughout last night, air defense units and mobile air defense teams repelled a coordinated attack on the city of Sevastopol. The Ukrainian army attacked the city with various types of air weapons, possibly including Storm Shadow missiles," Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev wrote on Telegram. "More than 20 drones were shot down in the northern region, Fiolent, Sevastopol Bay and Omega Bay."

One of the missiles struck the main southern branch of the Central Bank of Russia in Sevastopol, setting the roof on fire and shattering windows in nearby buildings, Governor Razvozhayev added.
Reports of damage to several apartments and an administrative building have also been released, but no casualties have been reported so far.
On the night of May 27 (local time), explosions and fires were reported in numerous areas across Russia and the Crimean Peninsula. Smoke rose near a military airfield in the southeastern Russian city of Voronezh.
The governor of Russia's Voronezh province, which borders the Kharkiv region, said two "high-speed targets" were shot down by air defenses, with no casualties reported. Debris damaged a tire repair shop and a utility building.
The Tuapse oil refinery on the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar region of southern Russia was among the targets of airstrikes on the night of June 27.
Residents of the city of Taganrog in Rostov province reported explosions and visible smoke in several areas of the city. Initial reports indicated an airstrike that caused a fire at a facility involved in the maintenance and repair of aviation equipment. Taganrog is located along the Azov Sea coast in southern Russia, just about 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
