Earlier, late on June 1st, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had used cruise missiles to attack the ship it identified as "MSC Sariska".

The UK Maritime Trade Organisation (UKMTO) – the body overseeing maritime transport in the region – confirmed the ship was attacked in the Persian Gulf, approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr.

In addition to the missile attack, there was also an explosion caused by a drone (UAV), resulting in a localized fire on the ship, which was subsequently extinguished.

Authorities said all crew members were safe and there were no casualties. The incident is being urgently investigated, and ships are advised to exercise caution when transiting the area.

The U.S. Army Central Command (USARCENT) and the 3rd Army announced the death via a social media post, but did not provide details about the training or the circumstances leading to the accident.

On the same day, the British Ministry of Defence also issued a statement "with deep sorrow" about the death of a British army soldier in a training accident in northern Iraq, and extended its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased.

Iran is considering a peace draft, calling for "not publicly discussing disagreements."

On June 2nd, Mehr News Agency, citing an anonymous source familiar with the matter, reported that Iran's final draft proposal for a temporary ceasefire with the US is still under review in Tehran and has not yet been returned to the mediator.

Amidst the complex developments, Iran is internally calling for a high degree of consensus. Ahmad Naderi, a member of the Presidium of the Iranian Parliament, has urged domestic leaders and political factions not to publicly express their disagreements, warning that divisive actions at this time are "threatening and dangerous."

In an interview with the ISNA news agency, Mr. Naderi emphasized: "In the current wartime context, it is of paramount importance for all forces to establish a unified front. It should be noted that the battlefield is not limited to the military aspect; the diplomatic front is also another component of this situation."

He asserted that maintaining national unity during periods of calm was not merely a political recommendation, but a prerequisite for preserving national power and neutralizing the enemy's strategy.
