The company has achieved impressive success, particularly with the iPhone 17 series. According to the latest figures, the iPhone 17 Pro Max accounted for 5% of total smartphone sales in Q4 2025, while the iPhone 17 ranked second and the iPhone 17 Pro ranked third.

Will iPhone Ultra be the name of the first foldable iPhone?

It doesn't live up to the name iPhone Ultra.
Recent information from the well-known leak source Digital Chat Station has sparked much debate: Apple's first foldable phone may not be called "iPhone Fold" as many predicted, but rather "iPhone Ultra." Although there has been no official announcement, the name "Ultra" is becoming increasingly plausible.
However, using the name "Ultra" for a foldable phone might not be the most logical choice. The market is already flooded with products bearing the "Ultra" label, not only from Samsung but also from brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. These products are often known for their superior features, from large battery capacities to advanced camera systems. Therefore, users might not associate the name "Ultra" with a foldable phone.
Since this is the first generation of foldable iPhones, Apple's naming of it "Ultra" could also present another risk the company needs to address. First-generation products often encounter numerous problems, from technical glitches to durability issues. History shows that even the early Galaxy Z Fold models were not immune to malfunctions, so giving it the name "Ultra" from the outset could make it difficult for Apple to fix these problems.
The question is: Which name is more fitting than iPhone Ultra? While iPhone Fold seems the most "natural" name when it comes to a foldable iPhone, another suggestion is "iFold." Although it might lose some of the "iPhone" feel, this name would help users recognize it as a completely new product, not just another version of the iPhone. Furthermore, if Apple decides to develop a clamshell-style foldable phone in the future, the name "iFlip" could also be an interesting option.
