Ten Hag trains like a military camp for Man Utd

Man Utd players could face a gruelling week of training as soon as they return this summer, in preparation for the 2023-2024 season.

According to the Sun on June 25, coach Erik Ten Hag has planned training for the new season. He plans to apply the training style usually used in military camps. Initially, Man Utd players will have to undergo two sessions every four days. The sessions focus on both physical and mental endurance. Staff at the Carrington training center jokingly call it "Hell Week", a term often used to describe SAS special forces camps.

"Last summer, Ten Hag had the players doing push-ups and other physical exercises," said a United insider. "This time, it seems some players were really devastated when they heard the news."

Ten Hag will return to work this weekend. Players who did not play for their national teams in early June will have to report on 3 July. Man Utd's final game of last season, the FA Cup final, was on 3 June.

Lisandro Martinez will be one of the first players back at Carrington. The Argentine centre-back has been out since April with a broken foot. "So happy to be back fully," Martinez tweeted , along with a muscle emoji.

United begin their pre-season tour with a match against Leeds in Oslo, Norway on July 12. A week later, they face Lyon in Edinburgh, Scotland. Before the new season, United will face Bilbao in Dublin, Ireland on August 6.

Man Utd have not signed any players in the summer transfer window. The "Red Devils" have sent three offers to buy Mason Mount to Chelsea, but all were rejected due to not meeting the price requirements. They are also targeting Moises Caicedo, Harry Kane, Andre Onana and Victor Osimhen.
