Bac Lieu provincial leaders release shrimp fry into the Ganh Hao estuary.
Mr. Tran Tuan Kiet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Hai District, said that releasing shrimp fry is an annual activity of the district aimed at raising people's awareness in protecting and exploiting aquatic resources. Along with releasing shrimp fry, the authorities also educate fishermen to understand and strictly comply with regulations on fisheries, combat IUU fishing, and actively participate in staying at sea to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.
Mr. Kiet added that, in recent years, the activities of protecting, regenerating, and developing aquatic resources in Dong Hai District have achieved many encouraging results. To restore the aquaculture source, the district releases more than 4 million shrimp larvae into the natural environment every year.
