In Thai Binh, the embankment and dike at the mouth of the left bank of the Red River have collapsed.

The Nội Lang embankment is located outside the An Hạ 2 dike at the left bank of the Hồng Hà River, in Nam Hải commune, Tiền Hải district. The structure is over 1.3 km long.

Authorities in Tien Hai district are actively planting bamboo stakes to address the embankment collapse.

Due to the impact of typhoon No. 3 and the recent high water levels on the Red River, the safety of dike and embankment structures in the district has been directly affected, including the Noi Lang embankment outside the An Ha 2 dike.

During an inspection by the authorities of Tien Hai district on September 17th, it was discovered that nearly 200 meters of the Noi Lang embankment outside the An Ha 2 dike had collapsed, with 70 meters of the collapse reaching the base of the dike.

This is a very dangerous incident and is continuing to develop, causing further erosion of the embankment slope, posing a risk to the An Ha dike while a storm is raging in the East Sea.

Immediately after the embankment collapse occurred, the People's Committee of Tien Hai District directed the People's Committee of Nam Hai Commune to plant bamboo stakes to monitor the landslide areas; closely monitor the embankment collapse situation to report to the district for timely handling.

Tien Hai district mobilized various forces, materials, and equipment to deal with the embankment collapse incident.

On September 18th, Tien Hai district mobilized a force of 70 people, hundreds of bamboo poles, bamboo fences, over ¹⁰⁰ cubic meters of sand, many sandbags, and an excavator to address landslides along the Noi Lang embankment outside the An Ha 2 dike.

District forces are working diligently, striving to complete the remediation of the landslide at the Noi Lang embankment outside the An Ha 2 dike by September 18th.
