Continuing the investment promotion program in some European countries, on April 15 local time, the delegation of Thai Nguyen province led by Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, worked with the International Engineering and Project Management Company Haskoning DHV; visited the Nereda Wastewater Treatment Plant in Utrecht City, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Comrade Pham Hoang Son, on behalf of the delegation, thanked Ms. Maartje Wise, CEO of Haskoning DHV Company and project and technology experts for taking the time to meet and provide information related to project implementation capacity in Vietnam and some localities. He said that Thai Nguyen province is very interested in issues of wastewater treatment, environmental sanitation and urban drainage, as well as climate change.
The CEO of Haskoning DHV Company hopes that the working program of the Delegation will open up cooperation opportunities for both sides, bringing the greatest impact and benefit to society and the environment.

Also during the working session, technology experts from Nereda Wastewater Treatment Plant introduced wastewater treatment technology that helps filter water using the unique features of activated biomass and artificial microorganisms without using the most advanced chemicals today, to treat wastewater with a capacity of 46 thousand m3/day/night.

Accordingly, the Nereda Plant has lower construction costs than conventional technology, energy consumption is reduced by 30-50%, and factory area is reduced by 75% compared to the activated sludge treatment process. Nereda technology will utilize waste sludge to produce organic fertilizers for the agricultural sector.
