To ensure absolute safety during the DIFF 2025 fireworks display, in the days leading up to the fireworks, the engineering corps of the City Military Command deployed to clear mines and explosive materials in the firing area and the main viewing stands, which are key points of the festival. The engineering teams conducted thorough searches with urgency but without complacency. This year, the engineering corps is equipped with many new, modern pieces of equipment, helping to improve accuracy and efficiency in the handling process.
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Ngoc Le, Head of the Engineering Corps, City Military Command, said: “Demin clearance is a job that requires absolute caution. Modern equipment is only one part; the important thing is the concentration, experience, and high discipline of each soldier in the team. Because it directly relates to the safety of tens of thousands of people participating in the festival, we carry out this special task with a proactive spirit and utmost caution.” In the context of Da Nang promoting its image as a safe, professional, and friendly tourist city through DIFF 2025, the silent efforts of the engineering corps contribute to maintaining the safety of this international-scale festival.
Putting aside personal joys, officers and soldiers of the City Military Command are among the main forces participating in protecting political security and social order. The image of hundreds of officers and soldiers appearing at key positions around the festival area has become familiar to the people and tourists. From key roads, grandstands, firing ranges to busy traffic junctions, the presence of soldiers in green uniforms can be seen everywhere. At the moment when the dazzling fireworks illuminate the night sky, and the whole city is focused on the festival with burning emotions, each officer and soldier must concentrate all their efforts on their duty. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhat Vu, Commander of the Son Tra District Military Command, said: “Teams consisting of officers from the District Military Command and militia assigned to guard, patrol, and protect targets from the outer perimeter to the core area of the festival are always ready to respond to any situation. Rescue forces are stationed on the Han River and in areas at risk of incidents, ready to deploy immediately upon order. Everyone is determined to ensure a safe festival season.”
At locations around the firing range, reconnaissance teams and forces deployed proactive measures to prevent potential safety hazards for residents, tourists, and the fireworks display area. Beyond maintaining security and order and ensuring the safety of the festival, officers and soldiers of the City Military Command also directly participated in the technical aspects of the fireworks display. The dazzling and spectacular performances that have become a hallmark of the festival over the years owe a great deal to the contributions of these modern-day soldiers.
Silently fulfilling their duties, each officer and soldier understands that their joy lies in the success of the festival, the peace of the people, and the fulfillment of each memorable moment for visitors. DIFF 2025 is not only an international-level cultural event, but also an opportunity for the city's residents and friends from around the world to deeply appreciate the sense of responsibility, dedication, and noble character of soldiers in peacetime, those who have contributed to preserving and spreading the image of Da Nang as a safe, friendly, and livable city.
