'Underground' beauty salon performed liposuction on 500 customers in half a year, earning nearly 10 billion VND

Ho Chi Minh City police discovered that Hospital SW cosmetic facility was operating illegally, performing liposuction on more than 500 customers without a license, earning nearly 10 billion VND in profit.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has just initiated a case and prosecuted Nguyen Thi Huong (32 years old, residing in Citiland residential area, Go Vap ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Minh Khai (32 years old, residing in Tan Son Nhat ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and Duong Tan Long (marketing staff) for the crime of "Deceiving customers".

The actions of these people were discovered during the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime, ensuring security and order for major political events in 2025. Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized maximum forces, means, and equipment, and deployed many professional measures to detect and handle violations of the law; including illegal medical examination and treatment and cosmetic surgery.

Through inspection, Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered that Hospital SW (address 49B Cao Thang, Ban Co ward, owned by Nguyen Thi Huong) was not granted a license to operate medical examination and treatment as well as licenses related to cosmetic surgery but still organized liposuction services in many body areas for customers.

From January until now, this facility has performed liposuction on more than 500 people, illegally profiting nearly 10 billion VND.

To attract customers, Nguyen Thi Huong directed marketing staff Duong Tan Long to post false advertisements on social networks, introducing doctors and experts who “cooperated” with the beauty salon. Long even hired people to pretend to be customers, creating clips of “service experiences” to promote, thereby attracting more people to come.

Nguyen Minh Khai, although not yet certified to practice cosmetic plastic surgery, was still hired by Huong to perform liposuction for customers at the above facility.

Based on collected documents and evidence, on August 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Minh Khai and Duong Tan Long to investigate the act of "Deceiving customers".

The case is under further investigation. Ho Chi Minh City Police affirmed that they will strictly and thoroughly handle violations, contributing to the rectification of medical examination and treatment activities, especially unlicensed cosmetic surgery facilities in the city.
