With a surprise victory, Tottenham escape the relegation zone.

In the early hours of May 4th, in the 35th round of the English Premier League, Tottenham secured an important 2-1 victory against Aston Villa.

Tottenham are facing a terrible season and are struggling to avoid relegation despite being a big club with many star players. Even before matchday 35, they had spent a long period in the relegation zone.

Things weren't easy for Tottenham when they faced Aston Villa, a team that also had objectives to achieve this season. However, the London team showed a surprisingly positive performance, despite playing away from home.

Of course, they also had a slight advantage as Aston Villa had just played their Europa League semi-final two days earlier. However, Tottenham's performance was still outstanding, especially in the first half.

They pressed forward in attack, winning possession repeatedly in the opponent's half. After several tense moments, Tottenham opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Conor Gallagher coolly finished from outside the penalty area, the ball traveling with power and precision, giving goalkeeper Martinez no chance to save it.

In the 17th minute, it was Palhinha's turn to try his luck, also with a long-range shot. This time, the ball hit the post. Opportunities went to waste one after another, until Richarlison capitalized on a chance in the 25th minute.

From a cross from the right wing by Mathys Tel, the Brazilian striker rose high to head the ball in, making it 2-0. With a comfortable lead, Tottenham maintained a defensive approach to protect their advantage.

They didn't even bother with relentless attacks, instead focusing on closing down the gaps. Aston Villa also lacked options, especially with their players still fatigued. It wasn't until the 90+6th minute that Buendia scored a late goal to reduce the deficit to 1-2.

With this victory, Tottenham now have 37 points and have officially escaped the relegation zone, climbing to 17th place. They were replaced in 18th place by West Ham, who currently have 36 points.
