The conference was chaired by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union; and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
Many important achievements in youth work.
The 14th meeting of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union focused on reviewing the first five years of implementing the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030, with many important contents. The review report showed that the implementation of the strategy was carried out in a context of many changes, especially the recovery process after the Covid-19 pandemic and the strong trend of digital transformation. These factors both created opportunities and posed new demands on the work of the Youth Union, especially in innovating methods of approaching and mobilizing young people.
During the period 2021-2025, Vietnamese youth continue to be a large, increasingly skilled, dynamic, creative, and adaptable force in the digital environment; at the same time, they also face many challenges such as job pressure, skill limitations, and mental health issues. Based on this, the Central Committee of the Youth Union has proactively advised and issued many programs and plans to concretize the strategy.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam chaired the conference.
Notably, five major projects have been submitted to the Prime Minister for promulgation, focusing on key areas such as revolutionary ideal education in cyberspace, supporting youth entrepreneurship, developing young talents, enhancing volunteer capacity, and international integration. Implementation has been effectively integrated into major movements such as "Youth Volunteerism" and "Creative Youth," creating synergy throughout the entire system.
The dissemination and implementation of the strategy was carried out widely with nearly 69,000 conferences, attracting more than 16.9 million youth union members and young people. In particular, digital transformation was accelerated with nearly 2 million media products, reaching over 20 billion views, demonstrating the clear effectiveness of the Youth Union's innovative communication methods.
Furthermore, coordination has been strengthened with various ministries, sectors, and localities, contributing to the improvement of mechanisms and policies and the mobilization of resources for youth development. Dialogue activities between leaders and youth are maintained regularly, with hundreds of conferences each year, focusing on practical issues such as employment, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
In implementing specific initiatives, many outstanding results have been recorded. Youth Union branches at all levels have supported over 20,000 startup projects, organized thousands of skills training activities, and promoted learning and scientific research movements, with millions of young people receiving commendations. The work of caring for the material, spiritual, and health well-being of young people has also been emphasized through hundreds of thousands of cultural and sports activities and psychological counseling programs.
Overall, after 5 years of implementation, the plan has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of Youth Union work, promoting the role of youth in socio-economic development and international integration, and creating a foundation for the continued effective implementation of the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy to 2030.
Strongly promote the pioneering role of youth.
At the 2026 Youth Month concluding conference, after listening to delegates present exemplary models, Mr. Bui Quang Huy made an important conclusion, comprehensively assessing the achievements, while also pointing out shortcomings and outlining key tasks for the future.
Mr. Bui Quang Huy affirmed that the Youth Month 2026 was organized systematically, comprehensively, and in depth, closely following the Central Committee's directives and clearly promoting the pioneering, volunteer, and creative role of youth. Revolutionary action movements were widely implemented with many practical projects and tasks, and many important targets were met and exceeded. In particular, volunteer activities for the community, participation in digital transformation, and support for youth entrepreneurship have made a clear impact and spread positively throughout society.

This year's Youth Month is also highlighted by important political events of the country, especially the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. According to Mr. Bui Quang Huy, the image of "youth in blue shirts" appearing widely at polling stations, with thousands of teams supporting voters, clearly demonstrates the role and responsibility of young people in participating in building the political system.
Besides the achievements, Mr. Bui Quang Huy also frankly pointed out the difficulties and limitations. Some targets have not been met; development among localities is still uneven; some activities lack depth and sustainability; and the work of summarizing and replicating effective models is still slow. Notably, the shortage of Youth Union officials at the grassroots level, especially with 118 communes still lacking a Youth Union secretary, highlights the urgent need to strengthen the organization. Mr. Bui Quang Huy emphasized that the achievements show the crucial role of the grassroots Youth Union, especially at the commune level, but practical conditions still present many challenges.
Based on practical implementation, Mr. Bui Quang Huy affirmed that Youth Month is a key activity, creating momentum for the year's tasks and aiming towards achieving the targets of the term. On that basis, he proposed that all levels of the Youth Union focus on implementing several key tasks.
First and foremost, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly understand the Party's guidelines and concretize them into action programs suitable for each locality and unit. In particular, it is essential to strengthen communication efforts, apply digital technology, and utilize social media and digital platforms to enhance the effectiveness of propaganda, while simultaneously measuring the extent of dissemination and youth participation.
Secondly, we must strongly promote the pioneering role of youth in key areas such as digital transformation, entrepreneurship, career development, and community volunteering. These are identified as the three important pillars of the youth movement in the current period. Along with this, we need to enhance the digital capacity of Youth Union officials and improve membership data to ensure it is "accurate, complete, clean, and relevant" to serve management and connect to the national data system.
Thirdly, focus on reviewing and urging localities, especially border areas, to develop volunteer projects that are appropriate to the practical situation; and at the same time, effectively implement the policy of each school having a community project, creating a connection between young people and the local area.
Fourth, continue to strengthen the Youth Union organization, improve the quality of its cadres, especially at the grassroots level; enhance training and the application of technology in management and administration. Simultaneously, attention should be paid to mobilizing social resources and supporting young people in accessing capital, developing the economy, and creating local jobs.
Mr. Bui Quang Huy emphasized: "The achievements during Youth Month 2026 are an important foundation for all levels of the Youth Union to continue promoting the pioneering spirit, creativity, and aspiration for contribution of young people, contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks in the coming time. The Central Secretariat of the Youth Union believes that with high determination, unity, and a sense of responsibility of the entire Youth Union, the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement will continue to make new strides, meeting the requirements of the new period."
At the conference, the Central Committee of the Youth Union awarded commendations to 13 provincial and city Youth Unions for their outstanding achievements; and commended 3 collectives and 9 individuals from the Youth Union's media units, including Thanh Nien Newspaper, which received commendations for both the collective and 4 individuals.
