The Land Law 2024 was passed by the National Assembly on January 18, 2024, effective from August 1, 2024. After one year of implementation, implementing the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and localities have actively and proactively issued legal documents under their authority and organized implementation, initially promoting efficiency in land management and use. The implementation of land users' rights, land recovery, compensation, support, resettlement, land valuation, issuance of Land Use Right Certificates, etc. have created consensus among the majority of people, the business community and unity among agencies from the central to local levels, contributing to the liberation of land resources for the country's socio-economic development.

According to the Draft, a number of contents of the Land Law will be adjusted and supplemented, such as: Land use planning and plans; land recovery, compensation, support, and resettlement when the State recovers land; land allocation, land lease, permission to change land use purposes; land finance, land prices; completion of the national land information system, land database, etc. Regarding land use planning and plans, the draft amendments are in the direction of eliminating annual district-level land use planning and plans.
